Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh Meets Upbit and Hana Bank Leaders, Promoting Crypto Asset Market Development in Vietnam.
On the evening of July 29, the Prime Minister met with leaders of Dunamu Group - the operator of the Upbit cryptocurrency exchange - and representatives of Hana Financial Group from South Korea. The meeting took place in the context of Vietnam gradually perfecting the legal framework for digital assets and blockchain technology.
During the meeting, Dunamu and Hana leaders shared their experience in implementing and managing the cryptocurrency market in South Korea - a leading country in blockchain management and application. Both groups expressed their commitment to supporting Vietnam in building a transparent, safe, and sustainable crypto ecosystem. They also hoped to establish a clear legal framework with Vietnam to protect investors and promote innovation in financial technology.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the strategic cooperation proposals and called on Dunamu and Hana to closely coordinate with Military Bank (MB Bank) in developing digital economic infrastructure, sharing management knowledge, and supporting advanced technology transfer.
Specifically, the head of government instructed the Ministry of Finance to take the lead, in coordination with the State Bank and relevant agencies, to study and develop a Resolution on piloting the development of the cryptocurrency asset market in Vietnam. The Prime Minister also encouraged Dunamu to continue researching investment possibilities in blockchain and cryptocurrency fields, contributing to making Vietnam a regional financial technology center in the future.
The event demonstrates Vietnam's determination to integrate with global digital financial trends, while opening up opportunities for extensive cooperation between international financial technology groups and the domestic startup and innovation ecosystem.
