DP World Tour And Nexo Introduce Course Record Prize Fund And Crypto Award At Nexo Championship

Digital assets wealth platform Nexo expanded its collaboration with the DP World Tour through the launch of the “Course Record Presented by Nexo,” a new ongoing prize initiative for Tour players. The program begins at the Nexo Championship, scheduled for August 7–10 at the recently opened Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland. The initial prize of $10,000 will be awarded to the first player to set a course record that remains unbroken by the conclusion of the event.

In order to commemorate the debut at the Nexo Championship, which will feature multiple past Tour winners, Nexo is offering an additional $50,000 in NEXO Tokens for a course record achieved during the tournament, highlighting the increasing presence of digital assets in top-tier sports. If no record is set during the week, the prize will carry over to the next event, with an extra $10,000 added to the total. Once a record is achieved, the prize amount resets. With 10 course records recorded in 2024 and six already in 2025, the competition promises to be a highlight of the Race to Dubai schedule.

“The Course Record marks the first recurring prize of its kind in golf, combining a performance‑driven incentive with the reach and growth potential of digital assets,” said Antoni Trenchev, Co‑founder of Nexo, in a written statement. “It represents a milestone in the shared vision of the DP World Tour and Nexo for innovation in professional golf,” he added.

“We’re always exploring new ways to celebrate and reward the exceptional talent on the DP World Tour, and the Course Record Presented by Nexo achieves exactly that,” said Ben Cowen, Chief Tournament and Operations Officer of the DP World Tour, in a written statement. “It will also enhance the spectacle for fans, with players encouraged to take extra risks in pursuit of that coveted course record and the accompanying prize. We thank Nexo for spearheading this new initiative and wish the best of luck to the players competing at the Nexo Championship,” he added.

Nexo Championship Set To Boost Scottish Golf Tourism And Extend DP World Tour Partnership

The prize pool will remain active through the season‑ending DP World Tour Championship, after which it will reset at the beginning of the 2026 season. Eligibility is limited to tournaments played on a single course, with weather‑affected events requiring a minimum of 36 holes completed; rounds played under preferred lies conditions will not qualify. The Nexo Championship takes place shortly after the July 29th grand opening of the new course, marked by a gala hosted by the Trump family and attended by Nexo’s founders.

In addition to its sporting relevance, the event is anticipated to support the local economy by drawing visitors and helping to extend the tourism season in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Golf tourism contributes over $400 million annually to Scotland’s economy, making tournaments such as the Nexo Championship valuable drivers of regional growth. This initiative builds on Nexo’s growing collaboration with the DP World Tour, following the company’s recent designation as an Official Marketing Partner and the Official Digital Wealth Platform of the Tour under a multi‑year agreement running until 2027.
